ABOUT DANIA

equine bodyworker

As an Alberta girl through and through, I have been on the backs of horses from the time I was in my mother’s womb and loved it ever since.

The Heart Behind Village Equine

I have always had a deep interest in holistic health and have considered pursuing a career as a massage therapist or acupuncturist. However, the idea of working in a bright office setting without any animals never quite felt like the right fit for me. It was only when I discovered the opportunity to work with horses that I truly found my passion.

My goal is to provide as much healing as I possibly can in this life for both horses and their owners alike.

I believe a team approach is best, and no one is an island. Because of this, I think the best road to wellness for your horse includes the cooperation of a farrier, trainer, and veterinarian.

After all, it takes a village.

I grew up with a mom who is a barefoot trimmer, and she raised me to be as horse crazy as she is. From 8 hour mountain rides at 4, starting pony club at 6, to three-day eventing up to training level, and enjoying competitive trail rides, my life has always been filled with a deep love for all things horses.

Over time, my passion gradually shifted towards understanding the intricacies of horses' physical well-being and discovering ways to enhance their overall happiness and health.

As bodyworkers and therapists in this industry, we often discuss not only our human teachers but also our equine teachers. I have been fortunate to spend the last ten years of my life with my horse, Roy. Like every horse, he is growing old and has his issues. He has experienced "phantom lamenesses" for as long as I've known him—subtle and rare "off steps." I was convinced that a solution existed, and the only person who offered any relief and answers was Tralauney Thomas of Equinox Health, who later became my teacher and mentor.
